I completed online work for past clients- 2005, 2006, 2007 and etc.
Several of them liked my work. In fact, many of them asked me to do other jobs for them. That being said, I have not heard back from some of them in a year or two. Should I contact them? If yes, what should I say?

I think that by contacting former clients all depends on how you approach them. Some may think we are out to get them to purchase more but that may not be the case. Since the Holidays are coming up. Like the women stated one e-mail use post cards or greeting cards just to say hello and wish them a pleasant day. In my case because I have a bunch of questions about internet challenges, you see we may not know how our clients are really doing. Once gentleman says to go and just find new clients. I believe that by moving on helps build your list. I do that all the time. Some of my clients do write to me back and I do appreciate it. Everyone person has there on style of how they socialize with others. If by saying that your are always there if you need them is just assuring that not only that you got a buck out of them per say, but most business people look at it in one day remembering that connection. Who knows they too are doing fairly well and that’s a good thing. For me I like to go back once in awhile and just drop in a kind hello and happy wishes to all friends and families because Holiday connections keep families or partnerships together.

Provide them your new services, I hope as an seo you must be coming up with new services often.
Offer them a discount.
Send a personal mail asking about how their site is doing etc etc.. Check the sites before you mail and make sure to leave a comment on the site..

Yes, - e-mail is the best way to make contact again. If not, maybe send out postcards. That way you are just giving them your contact info. You can get business post cards cheap through the internet. I use vistaprint.
