A customer has asked me to develop a web template for them that incorporates the images of celebrities. I know that he does not have the legal right to use these images. Am I, the web developer, responsible for how he uses this website, if a celebrity decides to sue him?
So far I have made him sign a document that indicates the following:
1) I (developer) believe that this customer does not have the right to publish these images
2) Customer agrees to hold me harmless should a lawsuit arise.
3) Customer acknowledges that I have specifically warmed him NOT to publish the images.
However, I did go on the use these images in the web template design before handing it off to him.

What Can I Do About A Non-paying Client?
I’m a freelance web developer located in British Columbia, Canada. I’ve been working with a client from California, USA, on an hourly basis for the last 6 months - never had a problem getting paid. The client has flat out refused to pay my last 4 invoices, totaling over $3500 USD. The given reason is ridiculous, but I have been unable to convince the client of this. I deal directly with the “head” of the company (very small, only a few people) and can’t go any higher up the chain.
I have every email ever exchanged between us (with promises of payment of these invoices in several emails), and logs of online messaging. I also have my phone records which show conversations between us.
What is my best option for getting payment? I understand that I can deal with small claims court, but it has to be a court which has jurisdiction over my client; Canadian courts won’t work in this case, and I don’t particularly want to drive to California.
Is it possible to file the small claims suit in Washington state? (As far as I understand it will still have jurisdiction over California residents.) That would be much closer to me…

My Client Doesn’t Want Me To Update There Page Regularly, What’s The Best Way To Allow Him To Upgrade It
He doesn’t have any type of HTML editor or program or what not. The only thing I could think of is he getting a program like Dreamweaver or something or he’ll just have to look for the referenced piece of code I provide in notepad unless anyone else has any suggestions? How do normal client based web developers allow users to update their site on a regular?

Can Web Designers Reuse Componets And Still Give Full Ownership To Client?
I’m a web developer.
I have written common PHP scripts like contact forms and double opt-in systems that I customize for each client.
Can I grant each and every client total ownership via “Work made for hire” under US copyright law?
Or do I no longer have the right to use it again after I’ve sold one website (containing the script) as “Work made for hire”?
