Choosing A Major–which Makes More Sense???? Computer Science Or It/math?

Which sounds like a better plan?
1) BS in Computer Science (maybe a minor in Math)
or
2) Double major in Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences
Im not really a computer junkie, and after looking through my schools course catalog, it seems like the IT courses might be more interesting than the Computer Science courses. However, I am very mathematically inclined and not entirely sure about my future career, so I’m nervous that an IT degree might not be a good idea. In general, a computer science degree seems like better degree and IT seems almost like the “easier” version of CS. Also my school requires that IT majors do either a double major or have a minor, which kind of sends out the message that an IT degree cant really stand on its own (unlike a CS). Would an IT and Math double major be stupid? Would it be better to just get a CS degree? I’ve been thinking about having a career either as a web developer or a math teacher. Any advice would be appreciated.

What Computer Technologies Would Be Most Important To Learn To Break Into The Industry?

I’ve got some college under my belt as well as personal/hobbyist experience. So far pretty good with:
HTML4
Javascript
Hardware upgrades & troubleshooting
Windows XP/2k
Visual basic
Microsoft Office
TCP/IP and networking
Active Directory
Starting to learn ASP programming in Visual web developer
Obviously, certifications as well as finishing the degree will be helpful. In addition to this, what would be the most important skills to learn for getting an entry level job, that I’m not already familiar with.

How Much Can I Make As A Freelance Designer While Employed With A Masters In Computer Science And An Mba?

Status:
I am currently a student working towards my Bachelors in Computer Science, then i plan to obtain my Masters in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration ( Concurrent Program ). I will also have my Associates in Web Developing in 6 months.
Plan:
Due to all the time i will have spent once finished with school i do not want to end up in a middle-wage paying job, my goal is to shoot to 90,000-120,000 /year, and to freelance my self as a web designer/programmer at the same time to bring in more money into my wallet. I also am reading up on other computer/internet options to make money such as SEO and Internet Marketing(FEEDS/BLOGGING/ADVERTISEMENT/P… I am a very hard worker with my eye set directly into this field and want to make as much out of this as possible.
Questions:
Lets say once i am finished with school i become a Information Systems Manager which bring in around 120,000 / year. If i advertise my self how much do you think i could make as a self employed web developer and/or a self employed Internet Marketer?
( EXPERT/EDUCATED ANSWERS/OPINIONS ONLY)
P.S. - Feel free to share more options ways in my field to make extra money for me to become Mr. Money Bags ^_^

Can I Keep People From Closing Windows In My Computer? (pc)?

Everytime my brother uses my computer he closes all my windows, which is really, REALLY annoying! I am an aspiring web developer, so sometimes I’m writting code or doing something on photoshop and although I usually save, sometimes I lose progress. So can I like ‘dissable’ the close button on all windows on a PC running Windows Vista?
P.S. Please don’t tell me to just lock the computer or anything obvious like that, I need something exactly as I said. Thank you.

How Much Research Did You Do Before Buying Your Computer?

As a computer technician, web developer, and instructor I have talked to many people who have a somewhat limited understanding of the computer the use on a daily basis. I can’t help but wonder how many people made the decision to buy their computer based solely on a TV commercial (i.e. Dell, HP, etc.). I also began to wonder, how many people have purchased a Windows-based PC as opposed to a Mac, just because they “have heard” that Macs weren’t good computers. Essentially, with the exception of those with the knowledge of building their own systems, how much research did you do before buying your computer? No need to answer if you did not have any control over what system was purchased. Did you buy your computer because it was cheap, was it recommened by someone, how much research did you do before buying your current computer, are you satisfied with your computer, would you ever consider buying a Mac - why or why not?

What Type Of Computer Monitor Should I Invest In For Photography?

I’m a photography student, and I’m ready to ditch my cheap CRT monitor and get myself a shiny new LCD. I’m pretty much limited to about $300 or so, but I’m open minded about price.
Specifically, I’m interested in what brands have good (or bad) reputations, and if there is any particular reason to get/avoid widescreen displays. And any other info would be great. Thanks!

How Do I Access Files On A Windows Xp Computer Sharing The Same Wireless Network As Me?

I’m a web developer. ColdFusionMX server is running on one of the computers (192.168.1.2) sharing the same wireless network as my laptop (192.168.1.4) - I’ve allowed the firewall to accept requests from my laptop, so I can access the ColdFusion server just fine but I’m just wondering how I gain access to files on the server so that I can develop.
This is really a file permissions question - how can I gain access to files on the server from my laptop?

Most computer science degrees dont teach modern computer languages. You learn the basics of programming though. You will just have to learn the Java and others yourself. They are based on some old curriculum the ACM (I think), wrote up in the 90s.
