I’m in community college now and I would like to pursue BSME but from what I’ve seen and heard so far it might not be worth the time and money. I’m in the auto business right now as a detalier/ painter/ salesman, working on obtaining my dealers license in the next year. Should I stick with my current industry or stay in school?

Is Content Engineer I-ii-iii Web The Same As Web Design/development?
I’m looking at all this careers at salary.com and I found this and when I read it it sounded kinda like someone being both as web designer and web developer…but maybe i’m wrong.
Is this really true or is this different from being a web designer/developer?

Can A Web Developer Be Called A Software Engineer? What Are The Responsibilities?
Personally, I believe the operable terms here are “developer” and “engineer”. I believe a developer is one who strictly does development of code - writing, testing, and maintaining. An engineer may or may not do development, but is involved in more than one phase/aspect of the project (any one of: requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, maintainence, etc.)

It Interview Tomorrow, Want To Become A Web/software Developer Or Engineer. Help Me Please 10 Points!?
Hello I asked a question a few minutes ago & got a great responce and I now know that the name of the career I want to pursue is a Web/Software (can’t make up my mind!) developer/engineer.
I am going to a IT interview tomorrow, its only the first year of the course so its just a general IT course but they do some great courses I can progress onto. They are going to ask me why I chose this course & why I want to do this course. and also why I want that career.
I get really bad nerves so i’m trying to plan a little ahead of what to say to those questions, so any tips or advice on what to mention would be great.
Currently i’m self teaching myself HTML & really want to work in the coding side of things but I don’t know how to explain my goals and why I want the course very well so please help me!

Web Developer Or Software Engineer? Not Sure Which To Go For.?
I’m in a little bit of a pickle to say the least.
I’m equally as proficient a Software Engineer as I am a Web Applications Developer and I’ve just started getting job interview invites for Lead positions in both roles.
My problem is that I’m really not sure which to go for. Both pay the same. Both are located within the same distance from where I am. and both are at the same career level.
In my mind, Software on the web is where the future lies, but at the same time, I think traditional desktop Software Engineers are “perceived” to be more intelligent due to the math involved.
Does anyone have any tips that could help me reach a decision?

Web Developer Or Web Software Engineer?
I was a mainframe programmer for 20 years, but the jobs have dried up in that area. I am thinking of getting a Web Developer certificate, however, I have realized that this is not a software development skill, as I have with the mainframes, but more of a skilled trade (making modifications to websites) kind of like an electrician or a plummer where it would be like a small business (I would have to generate my own clients). Am I correct on this? Also, would it be better for me to pursue a Web Software Engineer certificate? It would be more in line with my previous experience, but I’m not sure there are many jobs in it. Most large companies that use software engineers take the jobs offshore in my opinion. Thanks.
