We are painting our bedroom & are doing all the trim as well as the ceiling in white. We’d like to make this a quick project, so how long do we have to wait to put painters tape (we bought the delicate surface one) over the trim so we can paint the wall color?

Switching Over To Linux From Windoze?
One reason I am reluctant to simply switch over to Linux is a simple matter of compatability.
As a part-time web developer/ “old geek”, I have accumulated quite a few applications that run under the XP operating system. If these same applications will also run under the Linux OS then perhaps there is no reason for my paranoia and I should just take the plunge.
If anyone here has some experience with this issue, I would love to hear your advice!

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using A Sql Database Over An Xml File For A Web Application?
I have read into this a bit, and a lot of it seems very complex. I have to explain to my boss why we want to use a database rather than an xml file. The director of mis recommended the using of a database, and I am the web developer so I have to tell the boss why we should do this. I don’t know much about xml and all the cool features you can use, but from my understanding databases are the way to go in order to pull and export data, especially when using large amounts of data. I would say our site is medium sized. Does anyone have any other simple suggestions or answers as to why using a database is an advantage over using an XML file, and also any disadvantages or advantages of using either of these. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Did You Ever Get ‘painter’s Block’? How Long Did It Last & How Did You Get Over It?
Painter’s block, like writer’s block, can only affect you if you are trying to conjure up something out of nothing. If you look around you, at nature, at society, at patterns of light, at all great art throughout history; it is literally impossible to be blocked.
If for some reason like depression, you are worried that you may one day be blocked, keep an ideas book, and sketch or write down projects that you would love to do some day, but because of time you cannot get to it right now.
I made one like that when I started painting full time, but I have never had time to go back to even one of them, and that sketchbook is now a source of amusement and inspiration to me of the plentiful nature of consciousness.

A Painter Applied Linseed Oil Over Stain/poly On My Trim. The Oil Is Tacky And Won’t Dry. How Do I Fix This??
the linseed oil may have softened the polyethelene and it is now tacky and gummy and will not dry after a week. it will soon attract dust, etc. i have tried mineral sprits, paint remover, detergents of all types. nothing fazes the tacky surfaces. the trim is through the house, and i must do something soon…. thanks for any help.

What Would A Painter Charge To Paint A Door Over That I Tried To Paint Myself?
I had a new fiberglass door installed yesterday and thought I could paint the door myself since I have done it before. However I really did a very poor job of painting and would now like to find someone that would redo my door and make it look good.
